Search Engine Friendly Web Design and Re-Designs | Website Analytics | Much More! |
User & Search Engine Friendly Web Design For Maximum ResultsStep 1: Be Found By Search Engines. In order to accomplish the above, you typically need two things:
On many existing websites, we often see sites that are user friendly, but do not rank well in the major search engines and receive very little traffic. On the other hand, we also see sites that receive plenty of traffic, but have a high and quick exit rate, along with very few users taking action. Websites often fail to incorporate many components of the two key features above into a winning combination. This is a typical problem faced by website owners and is easy to explain. Often, web designers are creative specialists and can design a great looking website. However, they are not focused on the marketing aspect of your business and do not create websites optimized for search engines or visitor conversion. At the same time, many companies pay a firm to optimize their website for high search engines rankings, but the user friendliness factor is ignored. As a result, you end up with one of two scenarios: A great looking website that will never rank high in the major search engines, or a well ranked website, with traffic, but visitors are not taking action. User Friendly Websites When someone does a search on a major search engine, they have choices, many of them. If your website shows up for a related search, and someone clicks through to your site you typically have about five (5) seconds to capture them and keep them on the site. Important, "capturing" information needs to be prominently placed letting the visitor know "What's In It For Them". Failure to accomplish this will have the same result over and over, your potential customer hitting the back button and going to a competitor. Obstacles such as slow loading flash and images, music and too much irrelevant content are bothersome and typically result in lost visitors one after the other. A user friendly website on the other hand, will offer a clear path to what the visitor is actually looking for, deliver the right information, outshine the competition, provide a clear call to action, and provide a reason for the potential customer to contact your business. Search Engine Friendly Websites There are dozens of factors that go into creating a search engine friendly website which begins with the proper keyword research and the understanding of what potential customers type into a search engine to find the products or services you provide. Next comes optimizing your site accordingly by implementing dozens of on-page (things done on the website) and off-page (things done off the website) components that will deliver high rankings The biggest mistake we see in an search engine unfriendly design is a website with a Flash homepage, one completely done in Flash, or a site which is all image driven with little readable text. Additional mistakes include an internal navigation structure utilizing images rather than text and great content imbedded inside images. Search engines can not read Flash or images, and as a result see blank pages or little content which provide little information as to what the site is about. As a result, since the search engines do not know what your website is about, they will not rank you for keywords important and relative to your business. That does not mean that flash and images can not be used. A search engine friendly website may still incorporate the use of flash, and and of course images, but a proper balance with text that a search engine can read is required. Our design services make your website rank well and convert visitors into customers. This is accomplished through a great looking, user friendly design with all search engine optimization components installed.
