On many existing websites, we often see sites that are user friendly, but do not rank well in the major search engines and receive very little traffic. As a result, since the search engines do not know what your website is about, they will not rank you for keywords important and relative to your business. That does not mean that flash and images can not be used. A search engine friendly website may still incorporate the use of flash, and and of course images, but a proper balance with text that a search engine can read is required.
